My second visit to Seattle was just as magical as the first one. This visit was during the summer to see a good friend and explore the city and surrounding areas. From Issaquah to Kirkland to Downtown Seattle to Bainbridge Island, we left no stone unturned.
Let me start by saying I LOVE THIS CITY! I'm obsessed with how the rain just comes and goes and the crisp feeling of the breeze that is ALWAYS there.
And getting to dress comfortably is just a bonus. ((Check out chloe+isabel jewelry! I'm wearing the bangles here that literally go with everything and make ANY of my comfortable outfits look chic.))
Call it touristy all you want, but Pike's Place is gorgeous. Fresh flowers, fish and produce, delicious coffee and food... all in one place!!? No wonder everyone gravitates toward this spot. It has everything!
Peonies are in season and they are everywhere. We literally stopped to smell the flowers (and snap a picture of them) over and over.
I'm sure you guys remember me raving about this coffee shop the last time I went to Seattle. And of course, I really wanted to get a coffee elsewhere so I could have a little variety. BUT, well, I had to go back and I'm so glad I did.
This time I went full force into FREE chocolate cake. Yep, you heard that right... they were passing out free chocolate cake like it was Christmas. Thankfully I hit my step goals that day because I definitely ate my weight in chocolate cake. The cake had just come from the oven and was super moist and chewy. HEAVEN.
We found a cute little French café to have a light lunch and tea before beginning our busy day. Le Pichet was small and quaint. The service was excellent and the food was even better. Don't miss the dijon mustard. It's made in-house and has a delightful horseradish kick. I could drink it.
Before we boarded the ferry to Bainbridge Island, we stopped in for a couple bloody marys to cure our champagne hangover from our catch-up the night before (this is why you don't go 8 months without seeing your best friends).
The bloodys were DELICIOUS and I highly recommend stopping in the Commuter Comforts Cafe & Wine Bar if you're waiting on your ferry to Bainbridge. The bartender was so nice (and helpful when I spilled my bloody mary on my shirt).
The ferry to Bainbridge was so peaceful. I can't believe people commute that way every single day. What an awesome way to start a day!
Once we docked, cars, bikes and motorcycles all drove out from under the ferry. It was cool to watch. I felt like a true tourist because of how excited I was by this.
We had wine at Ale House, which is a super cute beer spot about 5 minutes from where the ferry docked. Kids are not allowed and they don't have food. Just drinks, my friends.
Once we were starving we had a sandwich and kale salad at Hitchcock Deli. They really know how to make a sandwich, and surprisingly they make a kale salad even better!
Bainbridge is so adorable. There are tons of cute shops and little eateries, but things close down early so don't get there too late!
Before we boarded the ferry back to the city, we stopped in for a little wine tasting at Eleven Winery. We were having so much fun here that almost missed our ferry!! If you stop in, ask for Sean and tell him I sent you.
We night capped with a little champs on the beautiful rooftop Frolik.
My last day in Seattle we did what we do best: BRUNCH. We headed to Kirkland and had pizza, salads, and obviously champagne before I had to head home. Thank you Deru, you made carbs OH SO worth it. We watched this place fill up in a matter of minutes so I suggest getting there before 11am.
