The Easiest Way To Make Your Morning More Nutritious

So this is awkward and it happens to me so often that it motivated me to start a blog. I've literally been putting turmeric in my coffee since the beginning of days and now all of a sudden it's trending. I do a LOT of weird stuff, some stuff I think is too weird to share with my network (like turmeric lattes) and then all of a sudden, you guys get weirder and weirder with me and I LOVE IT.

So the turmeric latte is the new thing. How does one make one without it tasting like complete sh.... crap? I'll tell you and I'll make it easy.

Now, if you're already juicing turmeric and making your own cashew milk, by ALL means... use the fresh stuff. But, if you live in an apartment like me and your juicer causes you to throw out your back every time you have to dig it out of its little nook, then don't worry with that. Today we are using store bought cashew or almond milk (organic, but most importantly carrageenan FREE). We are even using turmeric that is already ground up for us. Because our coffee already takes a million years that we don't have in the morning.

For most of us, coffee is the first thing we put into our bodies every single morning. And though I advise against this for A LOT of reasons, some people have stomachs made of steel and don't have problems with this until they're older. Coffee is highly acidic so do whatever it takes to get something into your stomach before drinking your first coffee. Most of the time for me it's a banana!

The main active ingredient in turmeric is Curcumin. Curcumin has extremely powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a strong antioxidant. Unfortunately, Curcumin isn't easily absorbed by our bodies so basically the more you use turmeric, the better. Obviously you should check with your doctor if you have ANY kinds of health problems at all before starting a new regimen.

To make a KOW Turmeric Latte you will need (amounts are listed in the directions below):

Ground Turmeric

Cashew Milk, Almond Milk, or Coconut Milk

White Gold Honey (optional, I do not use sweeteners in my coffee)

Ground Ginger (optional)

Ground Cinnamon (optional)

Coconut Oil &/or Ghee

Espresso

Milk Frother (couldn't live without mine!!)

Combine one single hot espresso with one teaspoon of coconut oil or ghee (I use one or the other every other day) this is also when you should add your desired amount of honey. Froth a half cup of milk with a teaspoon of turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon of ginger and a couple dashes of cinnamon. Combine all ingredients together and start your magical day.
