P.S. I love you ... What You Probably Didn't Know About Palm Springs

"Palm Springs was the desert Hollywood where celebrities would escape.”

Guys, I am sorta kinda obsessed with Palm Springs. I have been since the first time I visited back in 2011 (for my first of 5 Coachella Festivals). It’s a beautiful place with lots of celebrity mysteries and secrets, like Hollywood - but more chill. Back in the day, the celebrities would visit Palm Springs as a little escape. It’s only about 2 hours outside of LA ( without traffic. . . .but let’s be real, there’s always traffic).

Most of you have probably only heard of Palm Springs because of Coachella. And while the Coachella Festival is probably the largest event that takes place there, PS has major history with old Hollywood.

Old Hollywood celebs like Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and members of The Rat Pack owned homes and escaped to Palm Springs every chance they could get. There has definitely always been a little glitz-&-glam about PS, and now I know why. You can sense the history of that beautiful time in Hollywood when stars seemed more glamorous than life. I love it.

Lodging in PS in pretty awesome. We usually stay at The Ritz, because well, ...points. But it's also EXTREMELY beautiful and has amazing views of Coachella Valley.

Some shots of the Ritz ...

The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage happens to be the most luxurious in the area. The other great hotels, though hipster, attract the newest generation of a-listers like big-time bloggers and Leo DiCaprio. The Parker Palm Springs, The Avalon, The Ace Hotel, Colony Palms Hotel (which is apparently haunted by some members of The Rat Pack), L'Horizon Resort, Korakia Pensione, just to name a few are some of the hottest spots in PS today. If you're looking for more than just a place to sleep, consider checking any of these spots out. They're all super chic and have incorporated some major mixology at their trendy bars. Everything is camera ready.

The Avalon is super chic ...

If you want to stay where Marilyn Monroe stayed, you don't even have to go to Hollywood. Check out the Palm Springs Rendezvous. Marilyn herself actually stayed in their "pretty in pink" room and you can too!

Some fun things to do. . .

Ride the aerial tram

The Walk of Fame

The best Pho in the area? Pho Vu. The best mexican food in the area? La Perlita.

But my favorite thing to do is to lay out by the pool and sip on hand-crafted cocktails - which you know if you follow me on snapchat (candeeland).
